Hi, my name is Dawn Carpenter. I teach third grade reading, writing, and spelling at Bosqueville Elementary School. I grew up in Blooming Grove, Texas, and I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1988. I have been a teacher for 28 years with 19 of those being in Bosqueville.
My husband of 28 years, Bobby, is a former Bosqueville coach and now teaches construction science at GWAMA in Waco ISD. We have two awesome kids. Will is 19 and a student at Texas State Technical College. Chloe is 24, and she married her honey, Zac Beyer, this past July. They live in Kyle, Texas. We have two sweet dogs, Moose and Tippy Lou and a granddog, Ms. Beefy (see her cute mug on this page???) My family loves the beach at Port Aransas...we've been there for the last 17 years in a row!
In my spare time, I like to tend to my plants on the porch of my 1928 farmhouse, search for "treasures" at resale and thrift shops and work out with my friends at Camp Gladiator. I am known as the "Crazy Pig Lady" because of my obsession with pigs. I've been collecting them since the age of 11. I hope you can visit my classroom someday to check out my pig conglomeration!
I adore my school and community! I can't imagine a better place to have raised my kids and spend my days doing what I love to do!!!
